Mary Holthaus Mary Holthaus was born in Axtell, KS. She grew up on a farm in the St. Bridget area and attended a one room school, called Pleasant Ridge until she was in the eighth grade. At that time, she went to Baileyville and graduated from high school. After high school, she worked in a sewing factory for a couple of years. She then married and became a full time farm wife and mother. In 1989, she started to work at Centralia Schools as a teacher aide and is now a computer lab aide for the elementary. Mary keeps very busy with seven grown children and twenty-six grandchildren. Mrs. Holthaus is still a farm wife and loves spending time outdoors. Mary loves to sew, quilt, read, and cook.
