Lora Whetzal is a graduate of Centralia High School. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in education from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. After graduation, she married John Whetzal. They moved to southwest Oklahoma where she taught for seven years. The couple then moved back to Kansas when they both took teaching positions at Republic County Schools in Belleville. During this time, Lora earned her master’s degree from Fort Hays State University and became the high school librarian. They remained in Belleville for six years before moving to Centralia when John became the principal at Centralia Schools. Lora taught at Valley Heights JR/SR High School for four years before taking the position as one of the English Language Arts teachers here at Centralia Schools in 2010. Lora and John have four children, Evan, Darrian, Logan, and Keaton. Lora enjoys reading, writing, drawing, crafting, and gardening. You can email Lora at whetzallo@usd380.com.
