Ashley Edelman

Ashley Edelman

Ashley grew up in Sabetha, Kansas and decided she wanted to be a speech therapist in third grade. This dream deepened throughout Ashley’s high school career when working at a nursing home in the dietary department. Eating food and drinking liquids was something she observed her residents struggling with, thus the desire to be a speech therapist to help other’s with swallowing difficulties and speech difficulties grew more. After high school, she went to Kansas State University, to fulfill that dream of becoming a speech therapist. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Trauma studies. After graduating with her Bachelor’s degree, Ashley married her high school sweetheart, Baylen Edelman. Upon graduation of her Master’s degree in 2018, Ashley and Baylen moved to Seneca, Kansas where they currently reside. Ashley began working at the Onaga Hospital as the speech therapist for 3 years, and then she transitioned to working at the school in Centralia in 2022. Ashley provides speech therapy to students in grades K-12, and she enjoys getting to know each of her students on a personal level. You can find Ashley in the halls looking for her students with a smile on her face ready to equip each student with the tools they need to communicate. She states that “[Her] students always work hard, and it is an absolute joy and pleasure to work in this role!” Ashley is also the assistant coach to the girl’s high school basketball team as of 2023. She is eager to be a part of the Panther family in this role and support each team member to help them achieve their goals and work together as a team. Outside of school, you can find Ashley taking care of her three children, Bastian, Eiley, and Kieran. Ashley enjoys reading a good book, traveling with her family, and attending all K-State athletic events. You can email Ashley at
